SchoolKits for Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo is rich in all kinds of natural resources

but is in terrible trouble, politically.

The towns of Goma and Bujumbura, capitals of the provinces of

North and South Kivu, have been under military occupation since early 2025.

SchoolKits for Congo equips child victims of this war to restart their lives

and education in Goma, free of charge.

These children have fled armed violence with only what they could carry,

some are orphaned and some are injured.

Their families have no vehicles, reliable housing, or access to any social security.

We can give them hope that education will give them more options in future

making new relationships to help them cope with their losses.

Knowing that they are safe in school, their parents have some space to figure out

what to do about housing, and food.

SchoolKits, containing a uniform and school equipment, are created by a

small team of skilled local mothers,

who use this income to house and educate their own children.

The short video above shows a typical SchoolKit distribution in Goma.
